How to Increase Import size in WAMP or Phpmyadmin
Open php.ini files (C:\wamp\bin\php\php5.3.5 and C:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache2.2.17\bin) and perform following in both files
- Locate upload_max_filesize (use ctrl + F) and set it to as large as you need. For example upload_max_filesize = 100M (M denotes Mb).For example upload_max_filesize = 100M (M denotes Mb).
- Locate post_max_size and give it a larger value than upload_max_filesize.For example post_max_size = 120M (greater than upload size).
- Locate memory_limit and give it a larger value than both of above. For example memory_limit = 140M
What if we didn’t change post_max_size?
By default post_max_size is set to 8M. It won’t matter, to what extent you increase the upload_max_filesize, phpmyadmin will not extend import size greater than 8Mb.
While exporting do not select save as type. Copy entire text generated after clicking Go button. Paste into sql query section.
Zip is also useful as original database reduces to almost 20%of the original one. Its up to you which you want to use.
